Porters have always intrigued me. I feel like they are a dessert beer, at least I remembered them as such. I had never tried Deschutes BB Porter, but threw it in there in my first set of tests to make sure I had at least one Porter to try. Deschutes Brewery was founded in 1988 in Bend, Oregon. It grew quickly to be the eighth largest craft brewer in the US. It distributes its product to 28 states and internationally.
Deschutes Results
Interesting results considering the malts used in this beer include a wheat malt: Pale, Carapils, Chocolate, Crystal, Wheat.
Despite this fact, the test reveals a pass for 5ppm. It looks like a “low pass”, but the intensity of the line is not an indication of levels. Note the very faint mark in position O and none under T. I drank this, and quite enjoyed it.
